Summary

Northern Aroostook

We are collecting low to moderate numbers of both colonizing and non-colonizing aphids on our tower and sticky card traps with some pockets of higher activity.  Low to moderate numbers of potato aphids are active in some fields.  Adult Colorado potato beetles and larvae are active. Some potato flea beetle activity is being reported.  Low to moderate numbers of potato leafhoppers are being found on our tower traps and in some fields.  Hopper burn has been found in some fields.  Minor European corn borer moth activity is being detected.

Central Aroostook

We are collecting low to moderate numbers of both colonizing and non-colonizing aphids on our tower and sticky card traps with some pockets of higher activity. Low to moderate numbers of potato aphids are active in some fields. Adult Colorado potato beetles and larvae are active. Some potato flea beetle activity is being reported.  Low to moderate numbers of potato leafhoppers are being found on our tower traps and in some fields.  Hopper burn has been found in some fields. Southern Aroostook

We are collecting low to moderate numbers of both colonizing and non-colonizing aphids on our tower and sticky card traps, with some pockets of low to moderate numbers of wing green peach aphids and potato aphids being found. Adult Colorado potato beetles and small larvae are active. Some potato flea beetle activity is being reported.  Low numbers of potato leafhoppers are being found on our tower traps, sticky card traps and in some fields.  Minor European corn borer moth activity is being detected.

Central Maine

We are collecting low to moderate numbers of both colonizing and non-colonizing aphids in our water pan traps and in some fields, with some areas of high buckthorn aphid activity being found.  Some green peach aphids have been found in fields.  Adult Colorado potato beetles and small larvae are active and adults are continuing to lay eggs.  Some potato flea beetle activity is being reported.  Potato leafhoppers are being reported in potato fields and on apples.
