Farmers Reaching Customers in the Electronic Age

January 17th, 2012

Color logo of the Maine Highlands FarmersFarmers who are planning to direct market their farm products need to learn how to contact their potential customers.  Eighty-seven to ninety-five percent of people younger than 50 years have access to the Internet.  If farmers are not trying to contact their customers using email, websites, Facebook, blogs, Tweets, etc. are missing a large potential customer base.  Also, there is growing interest in developing buying clubs in many communities.

At the January 25th meeting of the Maine Highlands Farmers 7 pm at the Extension Office in Dover-Foxcroft, Donna Coffin, Extension Educator will report on the Harvest Festival session in Bangor Reaching Your Customers in the Electronic Age: Online Farmers’ Markets and Buying Clubs.

The Maine Highlands Farmers meeting will follow and all are welcome to attend.  They will be reviewing plans for the coming year. You can help with 2012 plans by completing an online survey at http://conta.cc/sZ8uiv.
