We also collaborate with local providers and have regular clinics for optometry, OB/GYN services, podiatry and therapeutic massage. We also can accommodate walk-in patients on a first-come, first-served basis.

What type of providers will my student see?
Cutler Health Center has a variety of medical providers on-site including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, an X-ray technician and a wellness educator/athletic trainer.

What if my student is sick on the weekend or at night?
Cutler Health Center has a provider on call 24 hours a day. Call 207-581-4000 after hours if you need medical care. The University Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a full-service ambulance that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a weeks for emergency transports to the hospital. For students who live off campus, Norumbega Medical on Kelley Road in Orono is also open weekends (call 207-866-4399).

Can Cutler Health Center bill my insurance?
Yes, Cuter Health Center is able to bill a parent’s third-party insurance if it covers the student directly. We also accept student health insurance and Healthcare bucks. We ask that students bring their insurance card and co-pay with them when they come in for an appointment. If your insurance is a HMO or managed care plan, please contact your primary care provider to obtain a referral to be seen at Cutler health Center.  The referral authorization should be faxed to 207-581-9513. For questions related to this process, please call our referrals specialist at 207-581-4006.  If you do not have health insurance, we’ll happily work with you and make sure your student gets the necessary healthcare that he or she needs.
