Director of Research & Sponsored Programs
Room 420 Corbett Hall
Serves as the University’s Authorized Institutional Representative with the authority to submit applications or proposals, negotiate, execute, and otherwise obligate the University on the resulting grants, cooperative agreements, or contracts for sponsored projects.
Grant and Contract Administrator II

Pre-Award Staff provide guidance for preparing project budgets, and interpreting and applying sponsor guidelines. They review budgets, budget justifications, and proposals for completeness and compliance with sponsor requirements and University of Maine policies, and submit proposal packages electronically to sponsors.
Post Award & Fiscal Services
Oversees post-award administration, and is an Institutional Administrative Official authorized to submit grant applications, proposals and contracts, and to obligate the University on the resulting award documents. Oversees contract/subcontract negotiation, modification of existing awards, and transfer of awards to/from other institutions. Serves as the university contact for A-133 audits as well as all federal and state audits of sponsored projects.
Creates new projects, enters project budgets into the general ledger, completes project allocation forms, reviews & processes subrecipient invocies and manages the ORSP Education & General budgets.
Processes funded proposals/award amendments, OPAS, and no-cost time extension requests. Monitors status of pending awards and amendments, and initiates Notices of Award for newly-funded projects.
Performs contract/subcontract negotiation, modification of existing awards, and advising of faculty and staff on grant transfers and budget carry-overs.
Performs sponsor invoicing, cost and labor distribution adjustments, financial report preparation, and clearing of account overdrafts.
Manages campus-billed accounts. Performs sponsor invoicing and financial reporting, and the reconciling, revising and closing out of accounts. Assists with A-133 audits.
Analysis, Compliance, and Training Services
Senior Officer for Research Administration & Strategic Analysis
Room 406 Corbett Hall
Oversees compliance with, and serves as University Compliance Officer for Federal Export Control Regulations and I-129 Attestations. Administers ORSP training programs and ORSP website. Cultivates foundation funding.
Assists in development of ORSP training programs and website. Manages University Funding Opportunities Calendar. Performs cost and labor distribution adjustments.
Information Technology Services and Reporting
Assistant Director, Information Management
Room 410 Corbett Hall
Oversees ORSP’s information management needs, including data systems design and management & network management. Provides PARS technical support and generates ad-hoc reports of extramural activity. Serves as University contact for the Federal CCR and ORCA.
Information Systems Coordinator II
Room 416 Corbett Hall
Performs PARS and sponsor website registration and support, assists with data systems design and management & network management, processes labor and cost adjustment requests and Time and Effort reports, and generates monthly extramural activity reports.
