Work Requests

facilities worker paintingThe Facilities Management (FM) Operations Center processes a variety of work orders to help support, maintain and improve life on campus. Select from the options below to submit your request. If you are unsure about the type of request you need please contact the Work Control office at 581.4400.

 

Maintenance requests for students:  Call Housing Services at 581.4580 or click here https://sousa.umerl.maine.edu:444/hdap/logon.aspx. For loft requests please email aux.pmrequests@maine.edu.

 

Services Request and Key Requests

For departmental work performed by FM, such as building a bookcase, installing additional light switches, installing a new/replacement carpet, key requests, or any other non-maintenance work, please use this form. Departments will be billed for services, therefore Work Orders cannot be submitted without an account number. Once you request services your Work Order will be forwarded to the appropriate FM unit where it will be scheduled. Normal shop hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Work performed outside of normal hours may be subject to overtime charges.

Event Request

Note:  If the event is to be billed to a student organization the request for FM services MUST always come through Carole LeClair, Division of Student Affairs at 581-1793.

Card Swipe Access Request

If your students or staff need card swipe access, please click here.  Generally these requests should come from the building manager or department chair.

Maintenance Request

When reporting non-emergency facilities maintenance issue requiring repairs, such as broken floor tiles, plugged toilets, broken light switches, dripping faucets, sticky locks, etc., please be sure to include detailed information to help us locate the problem, such as the floor, room number, where in the room or building, and any other details that will assist us.

If you encounter a potentially life threatening emergency, such as the smell of gas, oil or smoke, contact Public Safety immediately (campus phones dial 911, cell phones dial 581.4040).

During normal work hours (Monday thru Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), please also notify Facilities Management at 581.4400.
