It’s been a few years since our office has delivered any formalized, hands-on training for accessing MaineStreet Financials, in particular, General Ledger Inquiry (GL).
We’ve found that group training in a classroom doesn’t seem to help when users have specific questions related to their own chartfield combinations. We also know that many of you need and actually want individualized training.
So here’s what we’re suggesting. Alicia Wyman and I will set aside in our schedules a few hours a week (3-5 hours each) to work with individuals who need help with GL. Whether you’re a long-term user who wants to sit down and discuss where you’re having specific issues, or you’re new to financials and need basic instruction, we won’t judge your knowledge base. We simply want to help you ‘get it’ and apply it to your work situation.
Please consider calling us. Given our limited time, it may take a while to get you scheduled, but we really do think that one-on-one training will help you more than a group session.
This training is for both staff and faculty who currently have access to MaineStreet Financials in their current work situation. Please feel free to circulate/forward this memo.
