Foster’s Daily Democrat newspaper has posted online an Associated Press article about research by UMaine economist Todd Gabe, who calculated recently that obesity will grow from 7.8 percent of Maine’s youth to nearly 26 percent as the youths grow into obese adults, without intervention, costing $1.2 billion in the next 20 years.
