California Newspaper Notes UMaine Astronomy Contract
The North County Times in California noted in an article that the Oceanside Photo & Telescope company signed a $175,000 contract with the University of Maine to install an Ash-Dome and astronomy equipment as part of a plan to build a new combined planetarium and observatory in 2014 on the UMaine campus. The current Maynard Jordan Planetarium has relied on a 100-year-old telescope for students and members of the stargazing public.
