Associated Press Reports on Slow Food Conference at UMaine

Channel 2 (WLBZ) and Channel 5 (WABI) both posted an Associated Press report on an Oct. 26–27 conference at UMaine on “slow food,” an international movement that’s promoted as an alternative to fast food with the intention of preserving traditional cuisines and promoting locally grown foods, the report said. U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree of Maine, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, will deliver a talk titled “Food Policy — Incorporating the Slow Food Model into the Maine Economy.” The nonprofit ESTIA organization is organizing the conference.
