Newspaper Report on UMaine’s Top 20 Party Ranking

In a Portland Press Herald article about the Princeton Review’s recent listing of UMaine as a party school, several UMaine students who were interviewed said reports of excessive partying are exaggerations. Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Robert Dana, who was also interviewed for the story, said the university stresses moderation and personal responsibility, and that most students behave appropriately. Orono police Capt. Josh Ewing told the newspaper that the UMaine party atmosphere is much tamer now than in years past.
