The Hartford Courant has a story about Nick DiTaranto, a UMaine civil engineering major who is spending the summer as an intern in West Hartford, Conn., inspecting sidewalks on a bicycle. DiTaranto is close to completing the 245-mile inspection and has logged more than 700 sidewalk issues in a town database.
