AP Report on Grant for Buoy Program

Several media outlets, including the Boston Globe website carried an Associated Press report that seven regional research institutions, including the University of Maine, had received grant funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to continue a buoy system that monitors the Gulf of Maine and southern New England. Neal Pettigrew, a UMaine professor who has led the buoy program at UMaine since 1997, will receive $728,000 out of the $2 million grant. The Long Island Press and Hartford Business website also posted the AP report.
