Multiple news organizations, including the Bangor Daily News, Channel 6 (WCSH), Channel 5 (WABI), Channel 7 (WVII) and Mainebiz reported on the opening Monday of the 40,000-square-foot Technology Research Center in Old Town to be used by the University of Maine Forest Bioproducts Research Institute. Speakers at the event included UMaine President Paul Ferguson, University of Maine System Chancellor James Page, U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud, and the research institute’s director, Hemant Pendse, who also serves as the chair of UMaine’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
