Channel 5 (WABI) ran an Associated Press report that included comments from University of Maine Cooperative Extension vegetable and small fruit specialist David Handley about how the 2012 crop is shaping up. Handley said favorable weather last fall and early warm weather this spring has helped produce a “terrific” strawberry bloom now.
