Energy Foundation Announces UMaine Student’s Scholarship

The global energy organization Iberdrola USA Foundation and the Fundacion Iberdrola Scholarship Program for Energy and Environment Postgraduate Studies in the United States announced the awarding of fellowships to University of Maine Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate student Matthew Burns and a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Burns studies the feasibility of deploying multiple energy generators on a single offshore mooring to reduce construction costs and limit the seabed footprint. The scholarships were established last year to support graduate studies in renewable energy, environmental protection, climate change and energy efficiency.
