UMaine High-Altitude Balloon Launch Covered

The Bangor Daily News covered the launch of two large, high-altitude helium-filled balloons from the Pittsfield Municipal Airport as part of a science and engineering project by UMaine students and their adviser Rick Eason, a professor of electrical and computer engineering. The balloons carrying weather instrumentation, GPS transmitters and cameras were expected to go as high as 20 miles before parachuting to Earth for recovery by the students.
