Brewer Comments in Continuing Sen. Snowe Coverage
Mark Brewer, a political scientist at UMaine, was interviewed by a number of media outlets about the repercussions of U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe’s recent resignation announcement. The Reuters news service interviewed Brewer about whether or not her resignation will encourage compromise in Congress. In a Portland Press Herald story, Brewer said there have always been complaints about partisanship paralyzing Congress, but he sees more evidence now that the complaints are valid. He also told MaineToday Media, in an article that appeared in the Kennebec Journal, that the upcoming Senate race could be the most expensive election campaign in Maine history.
