Economist Comments on European Crisis

Adrienne Kearney, a UMaine macroeconomist who studies international finance, was quoted in a Bangor Daily News story about how the financial crisis in Europe could affect Maine businesses. Kearney told the BDN a slowdown in consumer spending in Europe would affect Asia, which exports much of its goods to that region, where China and Malaysia are two of Maine’s top trading partners, largely due to the semiconductors manufactured in South Portland at Texas Instruments.
