Offshore Wind Project in Working Waterfront Story
UMaine’s deepwater offshore wind power research was mentioned in a Working Waterfront story about the issue. The story noted UMaine’s Offshore Wind Energy Laboratory, which is based at the AEWC Advanced Structures and Composites Center on campus, is collaborating with industry partners on on new tools for offshore wind turbine construction and siting. Elizabeth Viselli, associate project manager for the center, was interviewed for the story. Also mentioned was the research being done by UMaine marine scientists and ornithologists on initial environmental monitoring studies.
