ORONO — The University of Maine Office of Multicultural Programs will present its first annual Harambé Jazz Festival in the Dunn Hall parking lot, across from Wells Conference Center, on Saturday Sept. 5.  The event is scheduled for 12 noon-4 p.m. Using music as a cultural bridge, the festival will showcase Maine performers including UMaine’s own Lidral Duo, featuring UMaine Prof. Karel Lidral. The Paavo Carey Quartet from Skowhegan and Maine jazz pianist Tom Snow will also perform. The event is free, and local vendors will provide food and beverages for purchase. The Division of Student Affairs and Student Government are co-sponsors.
