If you would like to receive a weekly e-mail from Kris Moody or JoAnn Hall, detailing the events of the week and making important announcements, please let her know at kris.moody@umit.maine.edu. Please also let her know if you are already on this list and would like to be removed. Thanks!
The Newman Center and the Catholic Student Association (CSA) both have folders on First Class. These folders are good places to check for postings on upcoming events at the Newman Center and around campus. If you don’t know how to get to them, follow these simple instructions. Once connected to FC, double click on “The Campus Connection”. Then double click on “Student Organizations”. Finally, double click on “All Student Orgs/Groups”. You will see both the CSA and Newman Center’s icons there. If you’re on a PC, you can “right-click” on the icon and choose “Make Alias” to add either folder to your desktop. That way you won’t need to follow all these steps every time you wish to check the folder’s postings.
A relatively new feature of the webpage is the on-line registration form. You can reach this by clicking on the link to your left. When presented with a login box, simply type “student” (without quotes) in the user id box as well as in the password box. This will open a menu. Select “add” and you will find a form that will allow you to complete the registration process on-line. We will still be doing the paper-based registration at the Newman Center, but are hoping more people will choose to register this way, as it will expedite the data entry process. Thanks for your help!
Another new addition to our website is a separate page for helpful links. It has been added to the menu on your left, and provides links to other websites that have been highly recommended. Please feel free to e-mail me with suggestions for other links. As we do not yet have a webmaster e-mail, please contact kris.moody@umit.maine.edu with your thoughts. Thanks!
Every Wednesday during the school year there will be a dinner at the Newman Center at 6 PM. All university community are welcome. This is a great and informal way to get to know other Catholics on campus.
Some students have a long walk to the Newman Center on dark, cold nights. Others have cars and would be willing to pick them up. If you need a ride to Mass, just let Kris or Joann kno and we can help to arrange rides.
The music groups at both the morning and evening liturgies are always happy to have new voices and new musical instruments join them. Speak to Kris Moody, our music director, if you’d like to participate in the groups, or simply show up an hour before mass begins.
Do you have questions about Catholicism? Perhaps you’re being asked questions by non-Catholics and you’re not sure of the answer. Maybe you find that you have new questions. There are many resources at the Newman Center which may be of help to you. Check in with Fr. Bill, Joann Hall or Kris Moody to find what you’re looking for.
