Enrolling in an academic program in a new environment can be a challenging experience. The University of Maine is committed to ensuring that all students can access the assistance needed to reach their full potential. Below are some of the services on campus to help you in your academic endeavors.
The Tutor Program, a part of the University’s College Success Programs, provides small group tutoring for UMaine students who need academic assistance in 100 and 200 level, non-web based courses.
The Career Center’s mission is to empower UMaine students to identify and reach their career goals. This mission is a collaborative effort between our staff, students, faculty, employers, and alumni.
There are a number of Labs where students can get help with their major. This is a fantastic facilituy for those with any questions about mathematics but for other services, your professor will be glad to help also.
The Writing Center
Available to help UMaine students improve their writing skills. A trained reader will help you with focus, development, coherence, mechanics, and style.
The university library offers students useful academic resources, a quiet place to study and meet study groups.
Disability support services
The office of Disability Support Services facilitates the education of students with physical, emotional or learning disabilities. DSS provides a point of coordination for accommodations and special services students with disabilities need while attending the University of Maine.
