The Tidal Energy Demonstration and Evaluation at Maine Maritime Academy cooperates with MTPI to provide field testing for companies who need these services.  The Tidal test sites adjacent to MMA have received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the testing of tidal turbines.

Maine Maritime Academy has strategic skill in offshore marine systems engineering and power plant design and operation.
