Welcome to Modern Languages and Classics

The Department of Modern Languages and Classics provides instruction and degree programs in French and Spanish. We offer undergraduate majors and minors in these two languages, the Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in French, and the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Spanish. Students can also take courses in Arabic, German, Hebrew, and Mandarin Chinese.  The Critical Languages Program provides a self-instructional program in spoken Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian under the VOX designator.
