Katie Olson Hilo is on staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center as a physical therapist and works at the Maine Rehabilitation Outpatient Center. Prior to moving to Maine, Katie Olson Hilo was employed at Children’s Hospital Boston as an inpatient and outpatient Physical Therapist. She has worked extensively with children and families with chronic pain including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She was instrumental in developing and implementing the Physical Therapy program at the Mayo Family Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Center. In addition to practicing physical therapy and being clinical instructor for Doctorate of Physical Therapy students, Katie Olson Hilo also studied rehabilitation outcomes for children with chronic pain conditions. She is published in Clinical Journal of Pain and Pediatric Pain Letter. She has been a presenter and co-author of multiple peer reviewed presentations including the Annual Conference and Exposition of American Physical Therapy Association in Boston, MA and at the 8th International Symposium on Pediatric Pain in Acapulco, Mexico. She has been a guest lecturer for Doctorate of Physical Therapy students at Springfield College for the last three years. Katie Olson Hilo’s research interests are in chronic pain, movement and gait analysis in the pediatric and adult populations.
