Crosby Laboratory - Biomedical Engineering Laboratory

The main thrusts in our Biomedical Engineering Laboratory are:

  • Robotic Surgery with Disposable Surgical Robotic End Effectors and Tools
  • Smart Medical Implants
  • Applications of Artificial Muscles to Medical Problems
  • Companion Robots to Help the Disabled and Wheel-Chaired People, Paraplegics, Qudriplegics, Elderly, as well as Helping Soldiers In Unstructured Environments and Battle Fields

The Biomedical Engineering Laboratory is also closely affiliated with :

1 – Advanced Robotics and Surgical Robots Laboratory

In this laboratory we are also designing and developing Humanoid and Walking Robots

2 – Smart Materials and Artificial Muscles Laboratory

In this laboratory we are also designing and developing Ionic Polymeric Metal Composites (IPMCs) and Ionic Polymeric Conductor Nano-Composites (IPMNCs and IPCNCs)
