UMaine’s Visual Media unit creates and oversees all aspects of photo and video production.

Student recruitment material, news features, and UMaine Today magazine productions. The unit also produces and archives significant UMaine events, and manages UMaine’s online video presence.

UMaine’s visual image needs are managed through the use of staff photographers and videographers, as well as a resource list of vetted freelancers. In addition, the unit can provide media training or coaching and serve as advisers on all aspects of visual media for the campus community.

In some cases the project does not fit Marketing and Communications’ mission and/or our production schedule. If this is the case we can suggest freelancers or other work channels.

Before any production is finalized, the visual media unit will review the final product for branding and other UMaine style considerations.
