For all trips that list a Pre-Trip meeting, that meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the trip at Maine Bound. Registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the trip. PLEASE NOTE: Schedule, including dates and locations, may change.

| Quinzee ClinicWed. Jan. 23 | Want to learn some survival skills for the winter? Or just enjoy playing in the snow? Join us for a winter survival clinic, where you’ll learn what it takes to survive a bivouac (or “bivy”) in the wild. We’ll build our very own quinzee, or snow hut, and go over a few other improvised shelter options. Never again be worried about being stuck in the cold! |

| Katahdin Winter AscentJan. 25-26Feb. 1-2 Feb. 8-9 | You may have experienced Katahdin a number of times in the summer months, but we guarantee you have never experienced it like this. The first day of this winter adventure will consist of skiing in to the base of the mountain. We will learn the basics of how to stay warm in the winter, as well as how to cook in the icy winter backcountry. The next day we will attempt to summit, a thrill that not many have experienced in winter. Come learn winter camping and mountaineering skills with us on Katahdin. Not only will you walk away with a whole new appreciation for winter, but you will have some pretty awesome bragging rights as well! |

| Borestone Winter AscentSun. Feb. 10 | This will be a wicked sick winter ascent giving an almost 360 degree view from two peaks on Borestone Mountain. The snowshoe trip up is not physically strenuous; however, it can be mentally strenuous due to the cold conditions and few slippery sections that we will be ascending. The trail is only about three miles to the top of the mountain making it perfect for a one day adventure. It’s gonna knock your socks off and if it doesn’t, well, we sure can. |

| Intro to Ice ClimbingThurs. Feb. 14 | Have you always thought that ice climbing looked cool, but never had the resources to get into it? Have you been ice climbing before and are itching to experience it again? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions then this trip is for you. Maine Bound will provide the gear and instruction, you just need to provide the desire to “ ‘send.” Come ice climbing with us in downtown Bangor and experience one happy side effect of freezing temperatures! |

| Mt.Washington Winter AscentFeb. 15-16 | Ready for some great winter mountaineering? We will camp overnight in beautiful North Conway NH. The next day we will wake very early to make a one day push for the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeast (6,288 ft), and part of the Appalachian trail. |

| Acadia Winter HikeSat. Mar. 30 | Looking for a “winter” hike without having to endure below freezing temps? There will likely be a bit of snow along the Acadia National Park trails, but the temperatures will be much more enjoyable. We’ll also avoid a lot of crowds at this time of the year! We’ll be heading up a few different peaks, all with with beautiful views of the surrounding area, and the ocean. |

Have you ever enjoyed the roar of a raging river or admired the beauty of a whitewater rapid? Why not take it to the next level and get a front row seat to all of the excitement that whitewater has to offer? During this course we will cover the basics of what you will need to know in order to have a safe and exciting whitewater kayaking experience. You will also have the opportunity to develop whitewater skills on rivers both near and far. Come along with Maine Bound and let the whitewater world take you away. |

| Cutler Coast BackpackingApr. 6-7 | We will be hiking a coastline loop trail while learning about basic hiking / backpacking and Leave No Trace (LNT) principles. There’s a great chance we’ll be able to view some aquatic wildlife on this hike. |

| SOLO Wilderness First AidApr. 13-14 | Designed for groups and their leaders, this 16-hour hands-on program covers topics ranging from preparation/prevention to assessment and treatment. | Bigelow TraverseApr. 13-15 | This is an overnight backpacking trip that will take us along the ridge of the gorgeous Bigelow Mountain Range, overlooking Flagstaff Lake. The first day will be spent traveling from Orono to the base of the mountains where we will spend the night. The second day will include making summits of several of the peaks and exploring the ridge. The last day, we’ll make a final summit, descend the ridge, and travel back to Orono. |

| Surf’s UpSun. Apr. 28 | This goal of this trip is to introduce you to surfing. We will head hours south and rent boards at Aquaholics surf shop in Kennebunkport. Then, depending on the surf, we will head to Kennebunkport Beach, Long Sands Beach, or Short Sands Beach. We will go over the basics on land and then get into the water to hit some waves! Board rental not included. |

| First Aid/CPRWed. Feb. 13Wed. Apr. 10 | The Heartsaver First Aid and CPR course teaches non-professional rescuers what to do in an emergency. This course includes basic first aid, adult/child/infant CPR with mask, adult/child AED, and adult/child/infant choking. This is a certification class taught by an American Heart BLS instructor. The course will last approximately four hours. |
