Maine Bound Outdoor Adventure Trips and Courses:
For all trips that list a Pre-Trip meeting, that meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the trip at Maine Bound.  Registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the trip.
PLEASE NOTE: Schedule, including dates and locations, may change.

Sea Kayaking in Stonington
September 13-14
Enjoy a weekend of Sea Kayaking and camping around the scenic islands off the coast of Stonington. Our licensed Maine Guides can teach you navigation, adapting to changes in conditions, paddling skills, and the LNT essentials of island camping.
Member: $75; Non-Member: $80

Acadia Multi-Pitch Climbing
September 14
This course is an opportunity to experience the pleasure of multi-pitch rock climbing.  You will enjoy the scenic views and fresh ocean air of Acadia National Park while hanging out on the side of a cliff.  Each participant will have a chance to experience climbs ranging from two to three pitches.
Member: $60; Non-Member: $65

Hiking and Waterslides in Baxter State Park
September 20
Join Maine Bound in an adventure up north Baxter State Park.  We will partake on a picturesque hike up Mt. O-J-I. After our moderate hike, we will head to ledge falls for a nice dip in the refreshing water and a ride down the natural rock slides.
Member: $33; Non-Member: $38

Sea Kayaking Day Trip
September 21
Let’s hit up Mount Desert Island for a day trip sea kayaking.  We’ll head to Bar Harbor and put in for a scenic paddle around the Porcupine Islands.
Our licensed Maine Guides will teach you the basics of sea kayaking, leave no trace in an island landscape, along with technical paddling skills.
Member: $40; Non-Member: $45

Gulf Hagas Hike
September 27-28
Come on a hike to the “Grand Canyon of the East”. We will explore the beautiful old growth forest, waterfalls, and canyons of Gulf Hagas in the North Maine Woods. On Saturday night, after our hike, we will camp out in a lean-to in the beautiful Ki-Jo Mary Forest.

Katahdin Hike
September 28
Have all your friends hiked Katahdin? Are you tired of sitting around the dorm listening to your friends awesome adventure stories? Then get your butt off the couch, put away the Netflix and pint of Ben and Jerry’s. Come hike to the highest point in Maine with us, it’s sure to make your friends super jealous.
Member: $50; Non-Member: $55

Katahdin Knife Edge Traverse
October 4
Come hike in beautiful and remote Baxter State Park along Katahdin’s infamous Knife Edge. We’ll start at Roaring Brook campground and hike up a loop along the Helon Taylor trail, across the Knife Edge, and down to Chimney Pond bagging Katahdin’s two highest peaks in the process.  Amazing views will be had, but with the trail’s feeling of exposure, this trip is not for the faint of heart!

Rock Climbing at Otter Cliffs
October 5
Have you wanted to try rock climbing but have never had the chance? With the ocean surf crashing against the cliffs below you, there is no place more scenic to first experience the amazing world of outdoor rock climbing than at Otter Cliffs in Acadia National Park. This adventure sport offers a unique blend of emotional and physical challenges that are both rewarding and fun!

West Outlet Canoe
October 11-12
Come enjoy a relaxing weekend on the little known West Outlet of the Kennebec River. This trip is all about those who want to experience the tranquility of nature. A leisurely paddle followed by a camping on a remote island. The second day we will paddle across the majestic Indian Pond to round out the weekend.

Climbing in Conway, NH
October 11-13
So you’ve climbed the South wall in Acadia and three pitches of climbing just isn’t enough for you. You want more? How about upwards of 1000 feet of climbing? Join our expert Maine Bound guides as we head to Conway, NH to one of the greatest classic climbing locations in New England. Spend your fall break camping and climbing!

Family and Friends Foliage Hike
October 18
Grab your family and friends and come with Maine Bound to explore off-campus.  Join us for a morning hike up Chick Hill to catch some amazing views of the ocean and Acadia National Park as well as Katahdin to the north.
Member: $20; Non-Member: $25

Bouldering and Breakfast
October 19
Get out of the gym and come with us to Camp Roosevelt, a local bouldering spot.  We’ll begin our day with some
camp-cooked breakfast, and then spend the rest bouldering.
Member: $30; Non-Member: $35

Lead Climbing Clinics
Tuesdays Sep 9, Oct 7, Nov 11, Dec 9 6:00-8:00 p.m.
This class will teach lead belaying and climbing on our tower at the Maine Bound Adventure Center. This class is required for lead climbing in the gym.
Member: $5; Non-Member: $10

Kayak Roll Clinics
Wednesdays Sept 17, Oct 15, Nov 19 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Our experienced paddle staff will walk you step by step through a sequence that will have you on your way to a great kayak roll. You will also learn the fundamentals of escaping your boat if you flip, and the steps involved in executing a kayak roll
