Maine Bound Policies

All UMaine Campus Recreation General Facility Policies also apply.

Eligibility– Anyone is eligible to participate in a non-credit activity as University affiliation is not required. Maine Bound is committed to accommodating people who are differently abled. The University of Maine System shall not discriminate on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or citizenship status, age, disability or veteran status in employment, education, and all other areas of the University.

Accommodation – Maine Bound encourages everyone to experience the excitement of outdoor recreation. If you are a person with a disability and are in need of accommodations or adaptations, Maine Bound will work to provide this assistance to ensure that your experience will be safe, comfortable, and exhilarating! If you need assistance or require accommodation to make your Maine Bound experience an exciting and memorable one, please contact Maine Bound prior to participation so that accommodations or adaptations can be made. Contact: Colleen French or call 207.581.1794.

Policies – Participants are required to act in a safe and responsible manner. Participants who, through behavior or unsafe actions, pose a danger to themselves or others may be asked to leave a program or facility. Removal from the field may result in an evacuation charge payable by the participant.

Registration – Registrations can be accepted at the Maine Bound Adventure Center or by phone. We accept cash, personal checks, and MC/VISA from everyone with full payment due upon registration. Current UMaine students may use their MaineCard or be billed through the Business Office for Maine Bound programs. Early registration is advised as space is limited.

Maine Bound Right To Revise – Maine Bound reserves the right to revise, amend, and/or change information included in the Guide, on our web-site, or in any marketing tool. Maine Bound reserves the right to cancel courses, to set minimum and maximum sizes for programs, and to make decisions that affect the location and content of its programs. Accordingly, readers of the Campus Recreation Guide, web-site, or any other publication should inquire as to whether revisions or changes have been made (call 207.581.1794).

UMaine students who cancel prior to the registration deadline will be billed the administrative fee on their student account. No refunds can be given after the registration deadline. In the event that Maine Bound has to cancel a program, a check for a full refund will be be issued through the Business Office and mailed to registered participants.
