Blue Bikes Program

The Blue Bikes program is a FREE bike-share opportunity for our campus community!  Here’s how it works.

Abandoned bikes are repaired, painted blue, and signed out free of charge (with a bike lock) to anyone with a MaineCard.  They may be checked out for up to a semester.  If the bike is lost or stolen, a $100 fee is assessed to the responsible person’s account.  To check on Blue Bike availability or for more information on the program please call (207) 581-1794 or stop by Maine Bound during business hours.

We are now accepting Blue Bike applications for spring semester.  Please fill out the online application.

Blue Bike application

All current Blue bikes are scheduled to be handed out April 4th, 2014 and will be due back during finals week.  We will also have summer rentals as well that will be for the duration of the summer.   Please be patient as we retrieve all the bike from winter storage and perform necessary maintenance on them.  If we are able to get bikes out sooner than April 4th, we will let you know.
