The Department of Communication and Journalism offers undergraduate degrees in Communication, Journalism, and Mass Communication.
Communication Majors will graduate with:
- Oral communication proficiency
- Written communication proficiency
- Understanding diversity and communication issues
- Understanding communication as an art and science
Journalism and Mass Communication Majors will graduate with an understanding of:
- The structure and operation of the mass media
- The social history of mass communication roles, technologies and processes
- And practice of non-fiction writing styles in journalism, broadcasting, advertising and public relations
- Legal issues related to mass communication
- Mass media, ethics, politics, and economics and society
