The Department of Communication and Journalism offers undergraduate degrees in Communication, Journalism, and Mass Communication.

Communication Majors will graduate with:

• Oral communication proficiency
• Written communication proficiency
• Understanding diversity and communication issues
• Understanding communication as an art and science

Journalism and Mass Communication Majors will graduate with an understanding of:

• The structure and operation of the mass media
• The social history of mass communication roles, technologies and processes
• And practice of non-fiction writing styles in journalism, broadcasting, advertising and public relations
• Legal issues related to mass communication
• Mass media, ethics, politics, and economics and society
