2012 4-H Farm Tractor Safety Course

youth driving a tractorFarm work can be dangerous, but a University of Maine Cooperative Extension tractor safety course will help reduce your risks. Participants will receive practical training in the classroom, in the shop, and on tractors. Participants should be at least 13 years of age to participate in this certified course.

Course Manual:  Participants will use a tractor safety manual published by Pennsylvania State University.

Sponsored by: University of Maine Cooperative Extension; Kramer Tractor, Sidney; and the Maine Farm Bureau (Kennebec County Chapter).

Location for All Sessions: Kramer Tractor in Sidney

Time: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evenings, April 2 – 30, 2012

  • Registration and introduction to the course
  • Requirements of the course
    • All assignments must be completed and submitted
    • Successfully pass the final written exam
    • Successfully complete the tractor hook up and driving exams
