National Invasive Species Awareness Week in Maine (Ann Gibbs, Maine Dept of Agriculture)
11:30 – 12:30 Keynote address:
“Invasive species and climate change: can we stay ahead of the curve?”
Presented by Dr. Abe Miller-Rushing, Science Coordinator, Schoodic Education and Research Center and Acadia National Park
Abe will discuss how climate change is affecting species, particularly invasives, in New England, and new ways to incorporate climate change into efforts to identify potentially invasive species before they become problematic here.
