Bad Honnef lies in one of the most beautiful tourist areas in Germany, the idyllic “gate to the romantic Rhine,” yet near the bustling cities of Bonn, Cologne, and Dusseldorf, and with easy access to Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.  The International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef · Bonn (IUBH) is set on the grounds of a large park in the heart of the town of about 25,000 people and is surrounded by extensive leisure facilities including the mineral springs which gave rise to its name.  While providing a quiet environment ideal for study, the campus is in the midst of one of Europe’s busiest regions in terms of academic, research, and economic activity.   

Academics:

As the language of the business world, English is the official language of study.  Specializing in business, hospitality, and tourism, the University offers programs such as  Business Administration, Audit and Taxation, Event Management, Hospitality Management, International Management, Tourism Management, and Master of Business Administration.  “Wintersemester” runs roughly September through February, and “Sommersemester” is March through August. More information about majors and courses. Exchange students are encouraged to take a course in German language and culture.

Housing:

IUBH has six residence halls. Every student has its own single room that is fully furnitured. Every room is part of a single, double or triple apartment. In double and triple apartments students share bathroom and kitchenet with one or two other students. Housing at IUBH student apartments costs between € 420.- and € 450.- per month and these costs include electricity, heating, water, free internet access. Dining:

The IUBH campus offers a wide variety of gastronomic facilities. The cafeteria offers food at lunchtime from Monday to Friday during the semester. Student pay € 600 per semester for the Campus voucher that gives access to products and services at every gastronomic facility on campus (Cafeteria, Dallmayr Café & Bar, Charly‘s Lounge, St. Anno Park-Restaurant.)

Transportation:

In Bad Honnef and Bad Reichenhall students can walk or bike around campus. In Bad Honnef all students have the semester ticket that entitles them to use the public transport of the VRS network. Other ways of travel are offered by “Deutsche Bahn” – the national german railway company. The Cologne-Bonn airport is close to Bad Honnef and students can access budget airlines to travel across Europe.
