Peer advisors 2014-2015

Lauren Aceto

I am a second year nursing student from Scarborough, Maine.I spent the fall 2012 semester studying abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica, and I wish I could still be there now. My time in Costa Rica turned out to be even more amazing than I had anticipated. I loved everything about the country, from the culture to the people to the geography. Now that I’ve started traveling, I never want to stop.

Emily Colfer

I am an International Affairs and Psychology major. When I studied abroad at the University of Sunderland, England, through direct exchange, I became extremely independent and able to be in large groups of people comfortably. I learned conversational skills, and skills for meeting new people (you’re going to a place where you know NO ONE so you have to try!) Make sure you join a club or get to know people in your classes. It is not difficult if you make an effort!

Samantha Kringstad

Hello everyone! My name is Samantha and I am a senior Child Development and Family Relations major at the University of Maine. Spring 2013 I studied abroad at Brighton University in England through USAC and loved every minute of it. Brighton was a lively city with many fun things to do. It’s famous for its pier, which had, games, carnival rides, and food stands. My journey abroad to England was the best decision of my life and can wait to help you all start yours!

Cameron Poussard

I am a Mechanical Engineering major and I have studied at Lancaster University in England in Spring 2014. Studying abroad has been one of the most rewarding expeiernces of my life. Not only was I able to make a plethora of new friends during my travels, but I was able to study at one of the top universities in the United Kingdom as well. The time I spent overseas has given me a new perspective on life as I was able to learn/adapt to a completely different culture. I would recommend study abroad to anyone who gets the opportunity.
