Study Abroad – Outgoing - Application
Students who have chosen a study abroad program or need help deciding between their top choices should make an appointment to meet with the Study Abroad Advisor by calling 27-581-1509 during regular business hours.
Students will receive the application form and further application instructions as well as budget and financial aid information during the appointment.
The Study Abroad Application process has two steps:
Step 1. UMaine application – submit the Application to Study Abroad with a small photo and a study abroad fee to the Office of International Programs in 100 Winslow Hall by October 15 for Spring programs and February 20 for summer, fall and year-long programs.
Step 2. Apply to the host university/program:
- Direct exchange application information will be emailed to students by the Study Abroad Advisor once Step 1 of the application process is completed.
- Recommended programs application are available on the Recommended Programs websites. Students should apply as early as possible to secure a spot in the program.
- Direct Enroll students should apply directly to the college/university.
NOTE: Direct exchange spots are limited in number. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
