International Coffee Hour

Coffee Hour is a social event sponsored by the International Student Association and Office of International Programs. It is usually held every Friday (except breaks) from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the North Pod of the Marketplace during the fall and spring semesters. Some special events held during Coffee Hour include: country and culture presentations, international food tasting, cooking competition, etc. It is a great way to meet other international and American students. Free refreshments are served.

International Week

International Week is an event organized by the Office of International Programs and sponsored by many departments and student organization on campus such as the Canadian-American Center, the Maine Folklife Center and Hudson Museum. It is usually held during the first week of November and involves international presentations, lectures, activities and events.

Culturefest

Each fall semester, the Office of International Programs and International Student Association host Culturefest, a daylong celebration of cultures with country/culture exhibits, food court, talent show and style show. International Dance Festival

The International Dance Festival is usually held in the spring semester. It involves international dance performances by students and UMaine community members. Watch the Dance Fest 2011 video. For more information, visit the IDF page.

Student Trips

The Office of International Programs usually sponsors two Student Trips each semester (fall and spring). Past trips include: hiking at Baxter State Park, shopping at Freeport, Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor excursion and Portland trip. There is usually a $5 fee and students MUST reserve their spot for the trip.
