It is with great pleasure and excitement that the UMaine community invites you to participate in Leadership Week during April 12-19, 2012, at the University of Maine celebrating the Inauguration of Paul W. Ferguson as the 19th President. The Inauguration of President Ferguson provides a forum for us to embrace the qualities of leadership so characteristic of Maine and its university. Leadership Week events will include: Nationally Renown Guest Speakers including Doris Kearns Goodwin, Student Art Performances, Undergraduate and Graduate Research Expos, Student Leadership Awards, and The Presidential Inauguration.
Reflective of the State Motto, Dirigo, meaning “I lead”, the theme of leadership was thoughtfully selected in order to recognize and celebrate the wonderful qualities of the UMaine community and the people of Maine that have been evident to and embraced by President Ferguson and his administration. The spirit of collaboration, strength in purpose, and commitment to a positive future for UMaine during our state and country’s challenging times, will be a defining leadership moment for the University of Maine and its community.
Please join us in this important time of celebration.
