Weekly field trips are not the only activities available when you are a student at IEI. The International Students’s association hosts Culture fest in the fall and the International Dance festival in the spring as well as shopping, skiing and sight-seeing trips throughout the year. Many of the other student groups on campus also host activities and events.

Here are just a few of the many things to do in Maine.

In The Fall

Do you want to go hiking? Do you want to experience a real halloween party? How about cooking your own dish and sharing with us at our own potluck  parties? All of these activities are happening during the fall semester. You can experience many things like hiking mountains amd enjoying the view of Maine’s forests. You are going to enjoy your time Halloween day since you are going to have a day party with the Intensive English Institute students and teachers and then there will be a night party at the University Memorial Union. As the fall semester comes to an end you are going to be invited to attend the pot luck party and share your own dish with other students.

Winter in Maine is a long time of snow and hot chocolate. The best idea can be spending time experimenting with new things.Coming from different places in the world and experiencing the winter activities outdoors in Maine can be a blast. You have the opportunity to go snowboarding and skiing every time you want at nearby Hermon Mountain or try Sugarloaf, a top ski destination. There are activities for each person whether you go for the extreme or other experiences like tubing with friends, ice skating, or just making the classic snowmen, snowball wars and angels in the white snow.

Spring and Summer

When the weather warms up it is time to go canoeing or kayaking. Just staying outside with a frisbee and your friends is fun. There is always a trip to Acadia. Maine day is a big university barbeque at the end of the year and Oozeball is the main attraction.
