Labor Day is an official family holiday, and will be celebrated this year on Monday, September 3, 2012. Since classes are not in session, all administrative and academic offices may close. All departments should permit employees to receive time off. However, where continuous operation is required, schedules should be arranged to allow as many employees as possible to receive this day off.
All regular classified employees will be given holiday pay equal to the regularly scheduled hours for this day. Classified employees who are required to work will be compensated at 1 1/2 times the hourly rate for the number of hours worked.
If payroll questions arise, please contact your department’s OHR Payroll Representative; for specific information on reporting time for holidays please see Entering Elapsed Time for a Family Holiday; for policy questions, please contact Human Resources at 581-1580.
