Holiday Schedule - Christmas and Administrative Holiday

Christmas Day is a family holiday and will be observed on Tuesday, December 25, 2012.  Since classes are not in session, all administrative and academic offices may close.  All departments should permit employees to receive time off.  However, where continuous operation is required, schedules should be arranged to allow as many employees as possible to receive these days off.

All hourly employees will be given holiday pay equal to the regularly scheduled hours for this day.  In addition to holiday pay, hourly employees who are required to work will be compensated at 1 ½ times the hourly rate for the number of hours worked.

In addition to the family holiday the Chancellor has declared an administrative holiday to begin 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday, December 24, 2012 through 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Monday, December 24, 2012.  The following conditions apply to the administrative holiday:

  · The duration of the administrative holiday will be the 12-hour period from noon until midnight on December 24, 2012.

  · Employees who are not scheduled to work during those hours will receive neither additional pay nor additional time off.

  · Please refer to pay 45 of the Non-Represented Classified Employee Handbook, Article 19, Section B of the C.O.L.T. Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article 24 Section 3 of the Police Unit Agreement and Article 27, Section 6 of the Service and   Maintenance Agreement.
