In addition to University recognized holidays, it is important to accommodate the observance of various religious traditions for those staff who need to be absent for religious holidays throughout the year.
For planning purposes, please note the following important religious holidays:
Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, falls on April 6, 2012.
Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) begins at sundown on September 16, 2012 and continues through sundown September 18, 2012.
Yom Kippur (Jewish, The Day of Atonement) begins at sundown on September 25, 2012, and concludes at sundown September 26, 2012.
Ramadan (Islamic, month-long fast) starts at sundown on July 20, 2012 and concludes at sundown on August 19, 2012.
Eid al-adha, (a four-day Islamic holiday) starts October 26, 2012
