Key Steps to Filling a Salaried (Professional) Position Vacancy - Request to Fill (RTF)
The Request to Fill (RTF) can be prepared by your Human Resources Officer (HRO) based on the information from the Job Description (JD) and the Position Description Questionnaire (PDQ)(DOC). The RTF (PDF) will include the minimum and maximum of the salary band for the position as well as the normal hiring range. Typically, the University seeks to hire new employees in the first or second quartile of the salary band. The Request to Fill Supplement (RTF- S) (PDF) is required for non soft money positions, and will be completed by the department.
Materials your HRO will provide you to accompany the RTF (PDF) for administrative review and approval will include:
- Approved Job Description and Job Advertisement
- Blank RTF-S (if required)
- Recruitment Strategy Form to be completed for review by Equal Opportunity
