The Comparative Applicant Rating Sheet is a tool to be used as part of the applicant screening, rating, and interview process. Using this form members of the search committee record their assessment of each applicant’s qualifications and experience for each job related requirement as stated in the vacancy announcement. The ratings may be expressed as a numerical rating (ex. 5=Exceeds Criteria, 1= Does Not Meet Criteria) or a check system (ex. ?+ = Exceeds Criteria, ?- = Does Not Meet Criteria.)
Initial Application Rating Sheet
The first section of this sheet should be completed by the Search Committee. This objective review will determine the applicants to be interviewed. The second part is completed by the Search Committee Chair to average search committee results for review by Human Resources prior to scheduling any interviews.
Comparative Interview Rating Sheet
This section will reflect the ratings of the interviewed candidates and will indicate the finalist(s) for your position. The second part should be used by the Search Committee Chair to average search committee results for review by Human Resources prior to scheduling a second interview or making a tentative offer.
