This can be used to reduce a full-time employee’s full-time work schedule (to not less than half-time) for no more than one third of the employee’s work year. This option provides the same level of benefits as BR status except vacation/sick-time are at the full time accrual but is a temporary arrangement that can be used once each year. All full-time regular employees are eligible for a Mutual Reduction of Work Schedule.
For faculty and professional employees with less than a 12-month work year, the schedule reduction can have a more than proportional impact on the employee’s monthly salary because of the normal spreading of the salary over 12 months.
