Hourly - Performance Assessment Program Bi-Weekly Paid Employees
An organization’s most valuable resource is its employees. For an organization to be truly successful, it must ensure that those employees have clear directions, necessary training and support, as well as clear feedback from their supervisors. Ideally, feedback should be timely, job related, and constructive. The annual performance assessment process is the formal forum for supervisors and employees to acknowledge strengths, identify professional development opportunities, and establish goals beneficial to achieving both individual and team successes. The collective bargaining agreements and employee handbooks for bi-weekly paid employees have incorporated a form and process for performance assessments. To comply with this commitment, supervisors are asked to please complete an assessment form within 60 days prior to the “Assessment Period: To:” date. For ACSUM employees, if completed reviews are not received by Human Resources 30 days after the due date, a rating of “satisfactory” will be assumed for the year.
Instructions for completing this assessment along with the required form are mailed to the supervisor by Human Resources about two months before the assessment is scheduled to be completed. A supervisor may also use the materials available online. To review classified job descriptions, please visit the Job Classification Index (PDF).
For further information regarding the form or the assessment process or to advise Human Resources of any change in reporting relationships please contact Dianne King at 581-1640 or email@example.com.
Upon completion of the assessment, please review with and provide copies to your employee(s)and retain a copy for the department file. Please forward the original copy to Human Resources at 227 Corbett Hall.
To monitor the effectiveness of the performance assessment process, the University of Maine System will annually collect summary data on completed reviews by the vice presidential area.
