Annual Leave (vacation) eligibility and accrual rates vary depending on the employee’s collective bargaining unit group and the employee’s type of appointment. Faculty and Professional employees with academic or student calendar year appointments do not earn annual leave (vacation). The scheduling of vacation time is subject to advance supervisory approval and utilization is reported to the Payroll Office each pay period. The maximum vacation carry over from one year to the next varies by collective bargaining unit. Employees should consult the appropriate collective bargaining agreement or employee handbook for additional information and a specific schedule of vacation accruals. Eligible University employees are paid for accumulated vacation which they have been unable to use, up to a set maximum, when their University employment ends.
