Alphabetical List of Critters - Camel Cricket

Camel Crickets (family Rhaphidophoridae), also known as Cave Crickets, can be a pest in the sense of their ‘nuisance’ factor, when they take up residence in buildings and homes, especially basements.  They are attracted to cool, dark, moist and humid areas and are therefore often described as “accidental invaders” that happen to wander in from some suitable habitat nearby. They are quite happy living in places such as storage buildings, basements, crawlspaces, garages, or laundry and shower areas–especially if those areas are in a basement.
