Alphabetical List of Critters - Apple Mealybug

Apple Mealybug: This is a scale-like, unarmored insect pest of apples.  They are coated witha powdery, waxy secretion and belong to a family of insects called Pseudococcidae, whose members are all unarmored scale insects found mostly in moist, warm climates. Sometimes nursery stocks can become infested with them, so even in colder climates they might show up from time to time, but in a place like Maine, they are not believed to be able to survive the winter.
